I went to see Dr Elangasinghe as I had red burning and dry skin. I have previously seen NHS dermatologists regarding this, and the appointments lasted 5 minutes and I was sent away with more steroid creams. Dr Elangasinghe was very different - he listened to all of my concerns and carried out investigatory work to find out the cause for my skin flaring. He has such a thorough approach and is extremely personable. Thanks to Dr Elangasinghe, I now have a different treatment plan and I am far better educated on how I can support my skin. I would highly recommend Dr Elangasinghe.

I can not rate this gentlemen/ dermatologist enough. I never write reviews but I felt compelled to do so in this case. I was seen at Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield by Dr Vinod (which is a lovely hospital). Dr Vinod is the first professional who has actually listened to my concerns. He completed a thorough examination and even asked about areas and examined these, that I did not consider to discuss (my arms and legs) given I went about my face. I was always aware of dry/ raised skin on the areas that he examined in addition to my face (legs/arms), but my concerns previously by others, so I thought that there was nothing that I could do to address this (which is not the case thanks to Mr Vinod). I initially presented due to concerns about sudden onset of redness and burning on my face. Mr Vinod diagnosed Rosacea, which I asked my GP about due to the symptoms I was having, but this was dismissed. He also identified a range of other conditions and provided the appropriate treatment for this. Not only did Mr Vinod prescribe medical treatment, he also advised me about lifestyle changes that could help my condition. This was much appreciated. I trust Mr Vionod implicitly. Even when I emailed to ask for clarification on a point that I forgot to ask about due to memory difficulties, he responded which again is appreciated and is a clear example of how professional, understanding, genuine and responsive he is to patients needs. Mr Vinod, is person centred in his practice. He listens and takes into account your family history and any concerns that you have. He is so thorough in his examination and I have complete confidence in his practice and diagnosis. I would strongly recommend, anyone who has concerns and wishes to see a dermatologist promptly, to arrange a consultation with Dr Vinod. He is knowledgable about a range of areas and offers some treatments that some other dermatologist do not do not (I have seen this from researching different consultants). Thank you.

Dr Elangasinghe removed a mole for me which was causing concern. His bed side manner is excellent I felt totally at ease with him and whilst carrying out the procedure he explained what would happen and what to expect afterwards. If you need to see a dermatologist I would definitely recommend you see him

I went to see Dr Vinod Elangasinghe because I had an infected leg and the symptoms were worsening despite treatment via the NHS. He was caring and after an examination of my leg and other rashes occurring in my body he explained what the problem was, discussed clearly the things that I should do to help relieve the symptoms as well as prescribing medicines to fight the problem. Within just a few days my symptoms began to reduce and the swelling almost disappeared. Because of Mr Elangasinghe's clear but friendly manner I felt totally relaxed and confident in his diagnosis. I have since been back for a review and he actually remembered me and was happy with my progress. I have total respect for Mr Elangasinghe who has such a mild manner, yet confident approach and I would recommend him to anyone who may require his specialist field.

Dr Elangasinghe is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G ! He has EVERYTHING you need in a doctor/consultant. Caring, kind, good listener, patient, KNOWLEDGEABLE. I had seen 3 other dermatologists on the NHS ( I see Vinod privately) and, good god, I may have been having a consultation with a media student for all they knew about skin and my acne rosacea! One of them just referred me for an appointment to be taught how to apply camouflage make up (yes, really!!) So I researched and found Vinod and he gave me a THOROUGH consultation of my skin, really looking at my skin - even with a magnifying glass to be able to diagnose my skin conditions. I was over the moon after my first consultation, I wanted to cry. FINALLY I had a doctor who knew how to treat me step-by-step - starting with the basics and working up. Vinod is genuine and will help you. I wouldn't see anyone else :)
